Project Description
VW and Porsche test electric trucks in Saxony
An electric truck has been presented at the Stollberg Automotive Development Center. The 40-tonne is in use at VW in Zwickau and at Porsche in Leipzig.
VW and Porsche are the first automotive manufacturers in Europe to use the fast-road electric truck in so-called just-in-time logistics. The research project runs under the name eJIT. The electrically operated trucks are designed to reduce noise and emissions in Saxony’s automotive plants.
